Field Service Technician - Air Compressor - Houston, TX

Job Description

Position: We are currently seeking a Field Service Technician for the Houston, Texas location. The Field Service Technician primary duties involve start-up, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment within Houston and surrounding areas. The Service Technician must be able to inspect, diagnose/troubleshoot, and repair compressed air system equipment when necessary. The Technician should have a good understanding of the mechanical and electrical system. Refrigeration experience is a major plus.

Responsibilities/Requirements: Travel to customer job sites to troubleshoot and maintain compressed air equipment, specifically rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors, various types of air dryers and other air system components.

  • Perform diagnostics and determine causes for failures on air compressor systems equipment
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, cleaning and setting of factory standard controls. Provide equipment/system recommendations to improve reliability and/or performance
  • Consult with and advise customers on compressed air equipment needs, maintenance, and repairs
  • Technical assistance on equipment start-ups of equipment
  • The ability to read and comprehend parts/operational service manuals, electrical wiring schematics, and P&ID’s are needed and considered a plus
  • Document service activities by completing paperwork for each job electronically daily
  • Maintaining a company vehicle with the proper equipment, tools, and parts to service equipment properly
  • Preference is strongly given to applicants with 5 -10 years of compressed air equipment experience
  • Must be able to properly use multimeter, hand and power tools while meeting company safety requirements as per OSHA requirements. This position will require the ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Must have a valid driver’s license along with an excellent driving record in order to drive a service van or truck
  • Provide on-call response during the assigned rotational weekend
  • Bilingual – Spanish communication is a plus

Additional Information Regarding Qualifications: 

  • Able to perform this job successfully, as an individual and must have verifiable air compressor repair experience, be a team player, independent worker, self-motivated, and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must be able to undergo a background process and pass pre-employment drug screening
